Twitter winning Social media fight

Wow been a while since I have blogged! Twitter rather taken over! Can be difficult to keep up with everything - Twitter, facebook, linkedIN sometimes it all feels like a full time job!
But everyone it really is worth it. Take a look at top refering sites on your website analytics - and these social media platforms are bound to feature - thats if you are active with them!

Science

What is going on in their tiny little brains? Or is it just that their brains are different to ours? I am about to learn a lot more about the Science behind how horses learn. I have a new client on board that is an Equitation Science Consultant. I will be advixing her on the start up of her consultancy and building a website for her .....and I hope learning alot more about this fascinating subject.
To make it even better my new client is an old uni friend (yes sadly uni was quite some time ago for me!)
Watch out for more developments in the new year!

Blenheim

Always nice to go to Blenheim Horse Trials. Had a chance to clamber over a few horseboxes - still researching their for Bryans new company. Talked to many of the stand holders that we know - concerning to hear many of them saying that the stands were not making enough profit to warrant attending. It seems certainly for tack stalls that more and more sales are online and people are just not shopping.....
Recession and changing buyer behaviour - what a combination!

Made some good contacts and had a couple of enquiries for work - so seems like things are not so gloomy for ElliottEQ!

Resolutions, Solutions, Ablutions

Been a busy day today, finalising some creative for a new stand design, as usual finding good high quality photography - of what you actually want is always a challenge - despite huge picture libraries to look at. I think we are getting there though!

Also been busy trying to be creative on the cheap. It might be time to invest in some of my own graphic design software .....hmmm I know thats expensive.....

Office security have been very annoying today - how many times have I had to get up from my desk and let them out for a pee???!

Lovely Blue shampoo

Took a trip to the Groomers showroom today. An interesting company that started life in the canine world and is now expanding into Equine. I always love to see companies that have a really positive strategy for growth. And of course even more on those that are building market share in the Equine world! take a look at groomers-online.com

Paul Fisher on Undercover Boss was just brilliant. Like most of the programs in this series it came down to people stories in the end. Not exposing massive strategy issues for businesses but focussing on the fact that all business are only as good as the people that work for them. It really made me refocus on how worthwhile the work is that I have been doing with the Recruitment and Training team at the British Horseracing Authority with the careersinracing project and also my work as a Director of the British Grooms Association. Without happy productive workers you will not get the best performance from your business. More and more bosses should go undercover and get back to their roots - even if it is just for one day!
